Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a high poverty, farming community, have multiple siblings and are English Language Learners.

If supplies are needed, the local Dollar Store is the one place with anything for the entire town.

It is a blessing if my students enter class with a sharpened pencil, eraser, and paper from day to day.

Despite uncontrollable financial woes, my students are still my children. They are eager, excited learners, and I want to facilitate their learning to the best of my ability.

My Project

My students use MacBooks and iPads in math class. With this project, the students will use the Circut to cut out pieces, shapes, and items to create graphs and scale drawings, games, and other station products that will enhance their learning. This project will allow students a new tool to upscale their products and end results.

Donations to this project will allow us to incorporate technology and art into our mathematics!

Students will be more engaged by being able to cut shapes, make graphs, and so much more. In our math interactive notebooks, we will be able to make examples, especially with graphs and scale drawings. Hands-on learning is the way to go in my classroom with my diverse students.
