This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing individuals that need hands-on opportunities to feel successful! I teach mostly English language learners at a Title I school, and our current curriculum is too difficult to tackle at this part of the school year.
Help me differentiate their intervention to meet their needs and create lifelong learners!
My students come to school each day excited to learn, but unfortunately that excitement dwindles away when confronted with the harsh reality that they need a lot of remedial support. More of the same is not what they need - innovative intervention is needed to make them succeed in school. Together, we can make their academic success a reality!
My Project
I'm in a unique position where I have the ability to be in all of the classrooms in my building or to pull individual students for remedial support. These students need innovated ways to support their learning goals. One of these goals is practicing remedial skills on learning websites but Chromebooks are too complicated to log on.
The two iPads would be a great way to ensure they are developing their technology skills and not feeling overwhelmed.
As a veteran teacher, the iOS platform is much easier to navigate for young students. In addition, this year I want to strive in maximizing learning and would like to give my students the choice of flexible seating. Many of my students are wiggly learners who struggle to sit still and focus. I want to give them strategies to keep them engaged without distracting their peers using Bouncy Bands and exercise balls. In addition, the Wikki Stix are a highly motivational tool to review letter formation.
