This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Pre-K in an inner city, low income school. 100% of our students receive free lunchs. My students are curious and love to learn.

Sixteen of my twenty students are Hispanic and many of their parents speak little to no English.

The parents and families in our school want their children to learn and grow. In order to do that I need resources to adequately meet their needs. I want to give my students fun resources to overcome the language barriers and help them succeed!

My Project

My students need ink for our classroom printer and laminating pouches for book making. Our printer is used every day to make student books, games, and art.

My Pre-K students are so creative.

They love printing pictures to use on their book pages. They also draw and label their pictures before we laminate our classroom books to make them more durable.

These materials will help my students come out of their shells and really try to label and write in the books we create. I enjoy seeing the growth and changes that are happening every day! My students are growing more confident every day. Creating these books have helped the students take a more proactive approach to learning their letters and sounds so they can write more.
