My students are not natural born artists, but they are open to trying new projects and working hard to complete each one. I have them start with very simple directions, then add to it to achieve the desired look.
Sometimes it is a challenge for the kids to get over the thought, "I'm not a good artist." So when I have them do projects, we start with very basic skills and build on those skills to accomplish a complex project.
I like to base our projects in historic artifacts, so they get the knowledge of which culture had done something similar-then expand on it.
My Project
We will be using the Sharpie Pens to ink in some designs that are thank you cards to all of their teachers that have helped them out throughout the year.
Some of our seniors don't have the resources to thank their teachers, so I would like to help them make hand made thank you cards.
We have watercolors and good paper to get it started. We just need more Sharpies to create the print and make it look nice. I want to encourage our students to be grateful to their teachers, councilors, and families that have helped them graduate from high school.
