Every culture has created masks to exhibit spirituality of their people. Through dance, ritual, and dramatic theatre, masks are used to take on a special character or persona that is celebrated. Our mask project will celebrate their individuality by incorporating the principles of design and use of color. Masks are a fun way to get creative and to look into different cultures in history and what purpose they were used for. They could be for harvest, fertility, or a dramatic performance. The paster gauze will be the foundation of the mask, the paint and the brushes will be used to paint it and the wire will be used to decorate it.
