Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach special education grades 6-8. My students have a range of learning disabilities. They are excited to learn however, they understand their own personal needs. I have students who cannot decode or write yet. However, they are always excited to be in school.

I teach in a low income community where my students need access to the necessary supplies.

Their backgrounds include students from immigrant families and African Americans. Parents work various shifts to provide for their families. Our neighborhood is located in one of the most economically disadvantage areas poverty and transient families is common. Our school is very limited in resources and I would love to expose them to different ways of learning. My students need access to different technological tools and supplies that will be available in the classroom for them to use.

My Project

My students are learning 21 century skills. This includes learning how to type, using the internet for research and typing up their essays. When they work on their writing they need to be able to publish their work and print it. Having the requiered supplies to do this will encourage my students to do their best since it will printed and posted.

My students are very eager to get to print their work.

These materials are essential in my classroom. My students are going to be very excited to have paper and ink at their disposal.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to donate to my students.
