This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a full-day, special education, pre-kinder class. This is the first school experience for many of them and they are already showing their eagerness to learn!

Although our school is predominately low-income, (100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch) these little guys and girls are all highly motivated to learn!

Our classroom consists of many different backgrounds, ethnicities, and learning abilities; however, our motto is, "Teamwork makes the dream work," and we work together every day to help each other learn.

My Project

Have you ever had a child ask you a question that you just don't know the answer to? This is one reason I am requesting an Echo Dot to use in our classroom. It will not only allow us to have immediate information at our fingertips, but also can share fun facts, games in which we must use our listening skills, and, of course, music! We sure do listen to a lot of music during gross motor time, to get our 'sillies' out before a lesson and during rest time to help us calm our bodies.

The Echo will also allow me to converse with parents whose first language is not English.

The device is able to do live translations, which will be a game-changer for me!
