My students need 3 Samsung Chromebooks to work on various research projects throughout the school year.
This project expired on May 10, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Do you know what it is like not to have the resources that you need to complete school projects? These are challenges that most of my students face on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the only access they have to technology is at school and even then it is not enough with only 4 computers in each class.
My students attend an elementary school in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
I have 31 fourth graders who live in a low socioeconomic area. Our whole school receives free lunch. About 90 percent of my students come from Spanish speaking homes and are English Language Learners themselves.
These laptops will open a world of possibilities for my students. They can be used across the curriculum and in all grade levels. But most importantly, they will allow them to gain knowledge and experience in researching different topics covered in third grade.
In addition to the exposure and experience they will gain from learning to research they will also get the exposure to technology that they might not be able to get elsewhere.
These laptops will help my students become technology literate and begin to become comfortable with technology.
