This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come to school regardless of what challenges they may be facing at home. They know that our classroom is a haven where they are protected and cared about. We have built a positive community in our classroom where students can feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from their mistakes.

My students know that education is critical in today’s society and holds power to open many doors of opportunity for them.

Still, most importantly, they are learning how to be positive contributors to society.

My Project

The books that I am requesting for my classroom will give students the opportunity to delve into a variety of books that will surely keep them entertained and engaged.

Not only will my students enjoy reading these books, but they will also learn about social emotional skills, different ethnicities, as well as their own, tolerance, kindness, and inclusion.

They will also have the opportunity to read books that they can connect with what they are learning in class, such as idioms and metaphors.
