I've been able to create visuals to support both my English-only and Spanish-speaking students, which helps everyone feel included and confident in learning. I've also used it to print vocabulary cards for each unit of study, complete with pictures, so students can connect new words with real images and use them in conversation and play.\r\n\r\nThe students get so excited when they see new visuals or vocabulary cards appear—it sparks curiosity and helps them remember what we're learning about. Some of my quieter students, especially those still learning English, have really warmed up to the activities because they can now point, match, and talk about what they see.\r\n\r\nThis simple technology has made our learning environment so much more engaging, colorful, and inclusive. After learning about how plants grow, each child had the chance to plant their own seeds using the donated materials. It was such a joyful and hands-on experience—little hands carefully scooping soil, gently placing seeds, and watering their pots with pride. The excitement continued in our dramatic play center, where we transformed the space into a pretend garden using the tools and props. The children loved role-playing as gardeners. The garden books that came with the supplies helped deepen their understanding, giving them visuals and language to connect with what they were doing.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the children were full of wonder and curiosity. Their eyes lit up as we opened the boxes and explored everything together. Now, our next steps include observing the changes in their planted seeds over time. We'll be recording growth in a simple observation journal using drawings and new vocabulary we've learned from our books. These resources have sparked so much learning and creativity, and we're so grateful for the opportunity to connect our play and lessons in such a meaningful way.","fullyFundedDate":1731940383076,"projectUrl":"project/little-green-thumbs-cultivating-young-m/8754018/","projectTitle":"Little Green Thumbs: Cultivating Young Minds Through Gardening Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Isaak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4640340_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1578964834996","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4640340"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_77797","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":509,"numTeachers":27,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":12,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":74,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"18.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.3,"schoolId":77797,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wishon Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wishon Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/fresno-unified-school-district/wishon-elementary-school/77797"}
