Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Kindergarten students speak six languages and represent six countries! My students are curious, energetic, and they love learning.

My students spend their day learning in both English and Spanish.

We are a low income, dual language community school, where everyone knows each other. They have built such a close community and really help one another grow as friends and learners. They do not always have all of the resources they need at home, but they care so much about learning.

My Project

During the winter, we will often have to have indoor recess due to the weather. This means the kids are not getting to go outside three times a day like they are used to!

Having games, activities and art projects to do in our classroom helps keep us busy and also allows us to get out some energy and use our imagination while we can't be outside!

Kindergarten students do best when they are given breaks during the day and I want them to be able to give their learning brains a break and also practice social skills like sharing and taking turns.
