My Students

I have an energetic group of third grade students who love to learn and love coming to school every day. My school is a Title I school where 100% of the students receive free breakfast and lunch every day. We live in a rural community with a diverse student population. I want to be able to give my students all the materials they need to be successful in the classroom and in daily life, and my projects will help me meet this goal!

My Project

Close your eyes, and picture a classroom....most of you are picturing a classroom, with four walls, inside of a building... Now imagine taking your vision outside! I want to be able to take my class of third graders, who want to be at school and are completely engaged in learning, to the great outdoors! These students are engaging in discussion about frogs, and plants while learning about how the life cycles of different plants/creatures impacts their own lives. Students are naturally led to research more about the world they live in. As their brains are making connections of new information to prior experiences they are naturally driven to read, write, and create.

This project will bring learning materials and technologies that will redefine students' learning space.

This project will give my students an iPad and a projector to connect and learn from real world experts through videos, virtual field trips and also to showcase their own learning, while being outside!
