The last few school years have been unpredictable. More so than ever, my band students are coming to our school with vastly different experiences and prior knowledge. To best accommodate all students, I have found that creating method books is ideal. I can create books that are individually curated to the abilities of each student. This helps to cover the range of abilities in my classes, from the very beginning musician to those more advanced.
Every student should have the opportunity to play an instrument and experience the joy of music.
This school year has been the first that I've printed and bound my own band books. Overall, it has been a great experience. Now, my students are ready for their second semester books. When I made the covers for the books, my students were so excited to see our school logo and their name. One student even took a picture of his book and made it the wallpaper on his phone. You know students love it when they put in on their phones! Unlike traditional method books, using resources from Teachers Pay Teachers will allow me to continue to print new books year after year. Each student can keep their books and I can reprint for students the following year. The 32 lb paper allows me to print on both sides without the music showing through. The coils, covers, and backs reinforce the books and give students a quality resource.
