My Students

I am a first year teacher, and I could not have asked for a better group of students! At our high school in Sidney, Nebraska I have the opportunity to teach 9th and 10th grade students. My students keep me on my toes, but they work hard and care about their education. These students may live in a rural area, but they have big dreams and I know they will do great things in life.

My Project

Part of the 10th grade English Language Arts curriculum at Sidney High School is to read Night by Elie Wiesel during the second semester of the school year. Right now, I only have 25 or so copies of the novel on hand; enough for students to read in class, but not enough for students to each check out a novel to read and complete their assignments at home.

Funding this project will ensure that all students will have a copy of Night by Elie Wiesel to read and reference at home.

This is especially important given the current pandemic, as a number of students are quarantined and hybrid learning at any given time.
