This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In early elementary school, arts and crafts are heavily emphasized for good reason. They are a fun and engaging way for students to learn about various topics. Most kids are able to learn how to use scissors without much difficulty however, for some students, the use of regular scissors is impossible due to various physical disabilities. Students who are not able to engage in activities with the class tend to feel hopeless and left out.
By donating to this project, you can help students with even the most debilitating disabilities actively participate in cutting activities with the class and, therefore, will help them feel more included and empowered.
They attach to the table and allow students to snip with just the press of a button. These scissors will be a game changer to our school and our beloved students who need a bit of extra help engaging in their classroom activities.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
