My Project

I am teaching seventh and eighth grade special education math students. They all have goals for increasing their math fluency and need to have access to seventh and eighth grade math content.

My goal is to close the gap from what they are able to currently able to do and what they are expected to be able to do in their seventh and eighth grade years.

In order to close this gap, we need math manipulatives and remedial work to 'catch' them up. By using these math manipulatives they will increase their math fluency, confidence, skills and abilities.

The more manipulatives and math activities they have access to, the more that we can build their fluency and skills. The more we build their fluency and skills the more confident that these students will feel and I will be able to help these students reach their math goals and close the gap.
