The impact of your donation is both immediate and long-term. When the students opened the boxes of books and sorted them, there was excitement in the air! These books were for THEM! No one else had read these books yet! They explored the covers, the illustrations, and read the back cover. They discussed which books they hoped they would read and which books reminded them of other texts they've encountered. They proudly wrote our classroom information inside the cover of each text.\r\n\r\nThen came the first and second round of reading! Students sampled the books in a book cafe, and they selected a book to read with a community volunteer. Reading together is such a special experience. Students worked on their fluency, comprehension, pronunciation, and vocabulary all while making connections and enhancing their social skills as they made important connections with adults from our community. Hearing the laughter, discussion, audible gasps, and cacophony of a room full of discussion and reading is one of the greatest experiences as an educator.\r\n\r\nThe legacy of your donation will go on for years as students continue to pick up these books and read them. New students will join the program. Students recommend books to each other. The love and joy of reading continues. Whether we're listening to educational videos, practicing language skills, or enjoying read-aloud stories, the sound is now clear and engaging for every student. It's made group activities and classroom participation more dynamic and enjoyable.\r\n\r\nThe fan has brought welcome comfort during warm days. With better airflow, students are more focused and energized, making it easier to stay on task and enjoy the learning process without distraction.\r\n\r\nThe updated cubby system has greatly improved our classroom organization. With sturdier, more accessible storage for notebooks and materials, students are better able to manage their belongings and stay organized.
