Our students are a light switch, ready to be turned on! The electricity coming from our 1st graders eagerness to learn is amazing! The students are so engaged that when you see them open up a book, you can tell they have learned something they didn't know before by the surprised expressions on their faces. The motto of the school all roads lead to college! The way our school is trying to accomplish this is by encouraging students they can achieve any goals that they set their minds to!
Each day in class we motivate them in small group instruction by targeting their individual needs to make them excel and increase their knowledge.
It is wonderful to see when our students are able to recognize their own growth! The greatest reward is knowing our students are overcoming challenges that were difficult but now are reachable!
The materials will make a difference in my students learning to inspire them to always seek more knowledge to help them grow their minds and increase brain power which will lead them to greater heights! The literacy materials such as the leveled readers will help my struggling readers to get on grade level with consistent intervention and pulling my reading groups every week to help them to improve their accuracy and fluency rate. Our reading goal for our class is to have 80% mastery. The science materials with the solar system will help my students to get hands on experience to help them understand the solar system by having visual aids to see how the planets and space work. Our goal for science is for students to be able to understand the content with 80% proficiency. The additional materials such as crayons and organizer materials will help them to more prepared each day to complete their assignments for what we are learning in class.
I want them to be encouraged to always seek the unknown which helps them to increase their knowledge to achieve their goals academically.
The materials will help my students to stay engaged and show there are no limits to what your brain can do when you are learning each day at school. Every day is a chance to gain more brain power to elevate minds.
