I teach at a Title One school, where sixty percent of our students receive free or reduced price lunch. Despite the difference of economic status, all of my students are eager to learn and grow.
It is my responsibility and privilege to help my students learn and grow so that they will reach their learning and character potentials.
I work at creating a learning environment that is welcoming and engaging. Part of that is to ensure that students are able to reach there potential. Sensory motor integration is a key factor in allowing students to reach their potential.
In order to increase physical activity while maximizing children's learning, I am wishing to implement the Minds-in-Motion program.
Minds-in-Motion is a unique movement-based program that focuses on improving children's cognitive functioning by integrating specialized but simple movements in a school setting.
The program focuses on stimulating the vestibular, visual and auditory processes that provide a critical foundation for a child's ability to learn.
This program has been proven to be effective for children who already perform well and for those students who are faced with challenges of learning, attention, or processing difficulties. The Minds-in-Motion Maze provides fifteen different activities that are tailored to meet the developmental needs of all children. These activities are refreshed and intensified throughout the year.
These items will complete our Minds-in-Motion Maze at school so that students can unlock their learning potential.
