As a teacher, I want to keep my students interested in reading. That has been a challenge so far as a first year teacher, because I do not have books that my students want to read. I want to get books in my students' hands that are going to interest them. My students will be using these books daily during AR reading. My goal is to use the books of high interest to further develop my students' passion for reading. As a first year teacher, I do not have the variety of books in my classroom library to meet the needs of my readers. We are in desperate need of updated reading material in our classroom library.
