My students are inquisitive, energetic, and creative individuals with special educational needs. They are curious about the world around them. Most of my students come from low social economic backgrounds. Many come from single parent homes. My students attend a Title I School, so; most students qualify for our free meal program.
My students have had very little exposure to multi-media activities that bring family participation into classroom activities.
Since many of my students have difficulty staying on task due to various learning disabilities; accessing grade level curriculum is very challenging. My students need your support to access the NGSS Science Standards. If family participation increases my students will be able to improve their skills.
My students will benefit academically and socially from using the The PowerMyLearning Family Engagement Innovators Program. This program can bridge academic learning from our classroom to my students’ families. My students will be able to teach their family members the academic concepts we learn in class though the family playlist content activities. My students’ academic success will be able to increase by their improving their ability to implement their own instructional skills to teach their family members academic concepts. These activities will boost their individual understanding of academic concepts by teaching other individuals in their homes.
When my students and their families are more connected to their learning; all stake holders benefit from the interactions.
It is important that we include our students’ families in the academic learning process that takes place in the classroom. These activities are a critical part of my students’ academic success and will improving the amount of interactions between students, their families, and instructor that will build academics and social skills.
