My Project

I am an occupational Therapist and always looking for ways to make sure that all of our students are able to participate in activities. In the years I have been here we have not had a modified swing on the playground. The number of ways a child with a physical impairment can play on the playground are limited but this is an easy way to make one activity more accessible.

This swing will be hung among all of the other swings so that students are able to play and interact with their peers.

This will allow students to build relationships along with self esteem, physical strength and provide a sensory activity. Play is an important part of learning. The more physical activity a child has the easier it is for them to then sit in a classroom and learn.

Please help us give all of our wonderful students the opportunity to play together on the playground. This will help build relationships and memories to last a lifetime.
