My Project

My students love creating self portraits. One problem we have encountered over the last couple of years is the difficulty in finding skin tone matches using standard markers, crayons, colored pencils, and paint. Crayola makes a line of products that would make it easier for my students to simply pick up a pencil and draw themselves without having to worry their drawing colors won't reflect how their skin actually looks.

My students are diverse and my goal for this project is for them to be able to create artwork with themselves as the subject and be able to create accurate colors easily.

Each grade level I teach creates a self portrait every year in the medium of their choosing. These materials would elevate my students' artwork and improve their confidence in their art.
