Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
February is Black History Month. But Black History is American History and should be taught all school year. Black History Month should be celebrated all year long and by helping fund this project I will be able to do so. The books chosen for this project will offer my students the opportunity to see themselves as they learn about great African American inventors and other great leaders throughout history. I want my students to be inspired by the courage, compassion, intelligence, strength, and humanity of these amazing Americans. These books will be used as read-aloud with the multiple purposes of teaching history, civil rights, author's craft, and ELA targets. The school-home connection project Is to provide numerous opportunities for my students to share their knowledge with their families by giving them each a copy of “Saturday by One Mora” to take home. This book has become our class's favorite book!!
