Incentivizing Positive Behaviors in School for Grades 6-8
Help me give my students a start to our PBIS School Store to help incentivize positive behaviors in our middle school with prizes like desk pets, snacks, stickers, pencils & pens, and fidget toys.

My Project
At MUJSHS we are starting our new school store to reward students for their positive behaviors. Our school follows the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework, and we are currently on Tier One. This tier uses systems, data, and practices that support everyone in our school. By starting a school store, we hope to incentive students in our school to make positive choices every day. We also hope that by encouraging students to start making positive choices and continuing those choices, that there will be less minor and major referrals for discipline. Additionally, we hope to see positive changes in the mental health of our students. Since the pandemic, students at our school have been more negative, do not see the importance of school, and have more general anxiety. Through creating a school-wide change to have students think and be more positive, we hope to see a decrease in these post-pandemic behaviors.
