Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students will be part of my life for much longer than they are in my classroom. They are part of my heart forever! I am not just their art teacher; I am hopefully part of their personal history book. I learn so much from them, challenge them, coach them, and believe that they can do anything that they believe in. In return, my students teach me how to be better in each of these areas and help brighten my day.

My Project

A classroom treasure chest will motivate students to be more productive and also create a feeling of pride and achievement. I believe that incentives and encouragement help to foster a positive environment that rewards kindness, accountability, and attentiveness. A treasure chest with student prizes is a fantastic way to recognize children's efforts. Students will be able to earn points to earn treats every week based on their behavior. Being successful makes you happy and every success story helps students become more self-confident. My students already have shown so much growth this year with positive behavior, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with achieving positive behavior!
