Help us to be in tune! Our orchestra students attempt to practice at home, but find it difficult without the proper equipment to tune their instruments. My students need 10 tuners and 10 pickups.
The students that will benefit from these tuners are in junior high school, sixth through eighth grade.
They are excited and eager to learn the basics of music through their participation in orchestra. These students are willing to practice at home, but without a way to tune their instruments this becomes a difficult task.
My Project
The new tuners will allow my students to be fully engaged in orchestra class and develop their practice skills at home. Without tuners for the students to use at home, their instruments strings will not be tuned correctly. This is a major problem for beginners, since nothing will sound correct if the open strings are not tuned properly. If they have the ability to fix the pitch of the strings then they will sound better and progress faster.
The contribution of these tuners will not only positively affect the performance of the orchestra as a whole, but also the individual player.
Music classes not only reinforce group dynamics, they also foster individual growth. Without these tuners, the students will take longer to progress and possibly lose interest. New and working equipment will energize the students and help them to continue their involvement in the music program. What better gift then the gift of music?
