In the Zone with a Xylophone

Help me give my students some quality instruments. I'm an Orff certified music teacher in a Title I school that's had many music teachers in a short time. Most instruments have broken or missing parts and dry rot.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love hands-on experiences and movement. Music class is a place they like to be. It doesn't matter what instrument I present in class, they want to play it! My goal is to have functioning instruments for all students for maximum engagement.

The school serves students who need a concentrated focus on reading and language.

Using Orff and multicultural instruments, I can deliver lessons that highlight language and promote class discussion. I like to use movement and improvisation along with literature to create performances where everyone has a voice.
