This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I might not be the first teacher to say, "My students are the best scholars." But with a passionate heart I can say, they are. It is my goal to build in them a strong academic foundation in the midst of the crisis we are living as well as helping them shape themselves into young men and women in my daily interaction with them. I care for them in a very special way for they are gift given to me to help educate for 10 months of their young lives. My scholars become passionate about their learning having the end in mind. Our goal is going to college. Even though we are living in a very strong emotional and psychological storm due to COVID-19 my students are eager to learn this new school year.

My Project

In the midst of a storm my scholars and I fight on to achieve success in the virtual setting we are learning through. The resources requested will be given to students to enhance math lessons through the use of the ten base cubes and counters. At a young age such as my second graders the use of hands on activities is very important to understand the concrete objective of a lesson or concept.

The use of the watercolors will expose my scholars to use different art media and not just crayons and pencil.

Even through we are teaching and learning in such a different way with alll the support given I am confident we will succeed.
