Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a speech-language pathologist who provides related service to approximately 50 students with varying learning needs in a high school in an urban district. The needs range from moderate to severe deficits include significant cognitive impairments, communication impairments, physical limitations, social/behavioral deficits, and visual impairments. Our students attend school in-person full-time, in cohorts as well as a number of students who have chosen to attend school as distance learners. Meeting the varying needs has been challenging this year.

Since distance learning began in March of 2020, providing my students with hands-on meaningful activities has been difficult as they struggle with digital teaching and accessing materials to participate in their digital learning.

The materials purchased through this project would provide access to appropriately modified items that would support their individual learning needs and help them continue to learn and grow through this difficult year of ch.

My Project

As we approach the end of the school year, I am doing my best to make my students' educational experience fun and engaging. Continued motivation has been an obstacle this school year and teachers need to continue to be creative and flexible to continue to engage students both within the classroom as well as distance learning. I am planning on using this gift card to purchase engaging digital content to address the specific, individual needs of my students who range drastically in ability and skill level. Please help us continue to engage our students!
