This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I am a 4th grade teacher in a high needs inner city school. We are a Title I school. The majority of my students are bilingual.

My students have an interest in writing stories. Also, they often have to summarize and illustrate their reading selections. Unfortunately, they do not have access to a color printer to print and/or scan their magnificent illustrations and stories.

My students want to publish their stories in a variety of ways. Having a color printer will provide them with a way to display their published work. Having many ways to display their work will encourage them to be more creative and to write more.

Your help will ensure that my students have one more way to present they finished work. You will make it possible for my students to write more and present their work in living color to display in the classroom and hallways. As a result, they will receive the positive praise they need and deserve.
