Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have two classes and I just love how in both classes my students have a great desire to learn. A couple of weeks into the school year, I had a few students come up to me from each class and ask, "When will we be working on projects!" It just warms my heart that my students have a such a natural love for learning.
My group of 5th graders this year is very unique, I've never seen a group so caring and sweet towards each other.
They love to help one another when one student notices another struggling with a concept or skill. I have a few "student teachers" that I pick when I notice they get the lesson and they either walk around the room assisting others or stamping other children's work with positive messages such as "Nice work" or "Terrific" to keep their momentum of their learning going. I absolutely love this group, they are such a great bunch!!
My Project
These two Chromebooks will make a world of difference in my classroom. It will allow my students to use amazing websites to help expand their knowledge. I arrive earlier to school to provide my three classroom computers to those students who do not have internet access at home.
My students come an hour before school starts because they choose to and because they love to learn.
Since I only three computers to offer, they have to rotate every 15 minutes so they each have a turn. Having these two additional laptops will really help out my students enhance their education!
