In Art Class Everyone Makes the Cut

My students need adaptive scissors and stamping tools with easy grips so that special needs preschool students and kindergartners can express their creativity in art.

My Students

My school is pre-K through 5th grade in Kansas. Our school population is small, about 300 students, so we feel like family. The students all know each other and our teachers are amazing!

Our early childhood program serves 3 and 4 year olds, and the program is so great that many of them continue to go to school here for the rest of their elementary schooling.

Special needs students make friends in preschool that last throughout elementary school. Our kids learn that our differences are what make us special.

My Project

My special needs preschoolers and kindergartners need adaptive scissors and stamping tools so that they can work independently in the art room. They need the opportunity to feel successful and to be able to express their creativity.

My project will make a difference because some students don't have the finger strength to use regular scissors or paintbrushes.

These tools will help them develop finger and grip strength to help them the rest of their lives.

My school budget just doesn't give me enough money to provide these specialized tools that students need to be creative and independent in the art room.
