I am currently a kindergarten teacher in North Carolina. My classroom consists of 20 high energy, diverse, and lovable students! I have a number of students who are English language learners and around 95% of my kindergarteners are on free or reduced lunch.

One subject area that my students really struggle with is phonics. The majority of them enter school unable to recognize their name. We have a wonderful phonics program but because of their lack of prior knowledge it is important for me to add more phonics opportunities through centers and morning activities.

What I am hoping to receive from you are the supplies I am lacking and in desperate need of. These magnetic leap frog devices would enable my students to have consistent access to fun and educational center activities. They will allow for hands on learning experiences and also would help them create words, sound them out, and blend them together as their phonics knowledge increases.

This is where you come in! These tools would allow my students the opportunity to work together, learn together, and succeed together in the area of language arts, and phonics. Your support can give my students something that I desperately want them to have and that is an understanding of phonics and all of tools necessary to help build a strong foundation for many years of learning and reading!
