Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I teach are varied but their love of science is strong. I teach at a school that offers a magnet STEM program but also serves a very large low-income population. Many of my students don't have access to technology at home, and school is their chance to practice their 21st century skills.

My school offers extensions to help students better understand STEM, that they might not otherwise be able to do.

My students love to learn and always try their best.

My Project

My schools tech is woefully out of date. My classes are also large so we don't have enough for every student to get a computer. I often have to have students use their own devices or share. This decreases the ability of my students to improve their 21st century skills.

With these computers my school can remove damaged computers and ensure that each student will get their own device to use.

It will also help us remove broken materials and replace it. Our school doesn't have the budget to replace these items on their own. It will also enrich their education through hands on activities.
