This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are special because early in their lives they learn to navigate their learning disability. In the classroom and around others, they notice they don't learn as quickly, learning isn't as fun, and quickly they begin to feel like they do not have any talents. I believe "A Fish in a Tree" will support me in improving self-efficacy of my students because they can relate to the main character who also has a diagnosis of dyslexia.

Through character analysis, inferencing, and engagement with vocabulary, I believe this novel will help support my students in learning more about themselves as learners and also individuals.
