My Project

I teach music at an Equity Focus School. My students struggled throughout the Covid -19 Pandemic with remote learning. While education continued with the online platform, music making suffered. We focused primarily on listening lessons, music theory, and composition using online technology such as Google song maker. As students have re-adjusted to attending in person school, it has been my priority to have students actively engaged in active music making and live performance during class. Students have returned to singing, drumming, and playing ukulele. Active music making allows students to work, play, and learn from each other and build community within the classroom. The banjolele will bring another timbre into our SEL music making forum and provide another opportunity for my students to express themselves through music.
