This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our student's safety is one of our number one priorities here at CIVICA and the team here is dedicated to making sure we are prepared for whatever emergencies we may face. While our school is fairly new, we are still navigating our way through getting all the supplies we need to be set up for success. We also are a title 1 school, meaning we serve a population in need of basic necessities and lower income families. In the state of an emergency, regardless of where you come from, you want the knowledge that the school your child is at is fully equipped to care for their students until they are reunited with their families. Asking for something as simple as a first aid kit in each classroom provides that basic security that, in the face of an emergency, CIVICA teachers and staff can keep their students safe.
