This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Inquisitive, engaged, and eager are words that begin to describe my students. Every day they are ready and willing to accept the new challenges that the day brings. Be it long division, an instant challenge, or a complicated text filled with unfamiliar words, my students are constantly striving to better themselves. As a Title I campus that serves a large population of bilingual and ESL students, my students are constantly looking for ways to bridge gaps and communicate with each other. They see education as a chance to not only improve their own lives but the lives of those around them.

My Project

Many students and adults struggle with sitting all day long in a standard chair. They can be uncomfortable and make it difficult for some to focus. These Hokki stools will allow students to have another option besides standing. Students can wiggle and fidget in these seats without disturbing others and be perfectly safe. It also allows students a chance to make choices about how they learn best. Some prefer standing, some sitting on the floor, and others prefer to move while learning. Having access to these stools will provide my students with more choice and more insight into how they learn best.
