Aloha! I am a first grade teacher. I enjoy first grade because it is such as crucial year for children in learning how to read. We are a low-income school and with current budget cuts, it is very difficult to supply my students with the materials they deserve. My classroom is very culturally diverse making the need for quality educational materials very important, especially for help in developing language skills.

Our school year just started and my kids have shown a great interest in my listening center. The only problem is, we don't have any read along books to go with it. Having so many language barriers, it is a very important activity for my students to experience. Having the print along with the audio sound helps kids to both hear and see the language they are trying to acquire.

We need sets of books with audio CD's for students to listen and read with. This will help my students acquire the English language as well as become better readers.

Your donation will make it possible for my kids to experience an integral part in the "learning to read" experience. You will also help my non-native English speakers to better learn the English language.
