This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The world today is drastically changing and if we want all our youth to be able to be contenders in the future then we must give them access to technology! It is the pen and paper of today and unfortunately many of my students have never had the luxury of having technology in their classrooms.

My students are energetic learners filled with inquiring minds yet we fail to allow them to become inquirers.

Much of the day is spent on structured Language Development since they are all ELLs but if we had technology in our classroom I could rotate students so every one of them could dive into the Internet and satisfy their inquiring minds!

My Project

My students would begin their inquiry cycle with a hand boiler. Once they realize that their own body heat is creating that science experiment before their eyes - they will be filled with questions! By having access to a laptop and 2 tablets within the classroom they can begin to drive their own learning and hopefully dive into more science facts that just don't translate when reading from the text.

This project will improve my classroom by granting my students access to technology.

It will provide them with the materials that will make all learning more engaging and it will help them become competitive individuals of the 21st century by improving their technological literacy. I fear that if I do not provide them with these opportunities while still in elementary school that my students will never be successful in becoming the leaders of tomorrow!
