Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My high school students are individuals who come from different socioeconomic backgrounds with different family structures. They come from all different walks of life. Some students come from single-family homes and others live with their grandparents.
Despite their circumstances, my students are eager to learn.
They thrive in my classroom as they are provided with structure and care from me. It is exciting to see them motivated about learning and enjoying math. My students need stability, structure, and sincerity to learn and grow to be well-rounded individuals who would be able to contribute and give back to their community.
My Project
Chromebooks in the classroom will enable my students to engage in mathematics through the use of interactive activities online. Our school shares the Chromebook cart so my class is not guaranteed to have access to them at any given day.
Having a Chromebook set in my classroom will allow my students to access their textbooks, take assessments, use Desmos to gain a deeper understanding of the lesson, as well as, many other resources that are available online.
Technology is an important part of our students education and it is important to teach and incorporate the use of technology in their lives. They need to be prepared for the future.
