My Students

Did you ever turn a refrigerator box into a spaceship or build a fort from you mother's favorite blankets? My students need materials that will provide them with the opportunity to learn through imaginative play.

I teach a preschool class of eight that consists of children with disabilities as well as typically developing peers.

I have students with autism, physical disabilities, and a variety of other developmental delays. My typically developing peers provide modeling of essential skills such as language and socialization.

My Project

The garage and cash register I am asking for will provide hours of creative play for my students. The garage will be a terrific asset to our Little Engine That Could unit where we explore and learn about all kinds of different modes of transportation. We will incorporate the cash register during our Very Hungry Caterpillar unit where the children can set up a fruit and vegetable stand.

There are endless opportunities for children to learn through imaginative play.

These materials will give the children hours and hours of learning by expanding their imagination. We may still turn a refrigerator box into a spaceship and build a fort out of blankets, but the garage and cash register would sure provide an awesome opportunity to expand on little minds!
