This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need fun, appealing toys to play with during structured playtime. Students on the Autism Spectrum can be very passionate and hands-on with toys; we need items that can stand up to this challenge. I used these animals with another class and they lasted over 10 years without wearing down. Students love them and they are durable but soft.
We have several animal lovers in our class and a poor selection of animal toys.
We will use these in our imaginative play area and as positive reinforcement for students. In addition, we can use these toys to practice animal sounds, turn-taking, interactive play, and more.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
