My Students

My Kindergarten students are full of energy and ready to learn. They have a love for learning and are eager to begin learning to read. My school in is a rural area and has a high percentage of low income families.

Because I want to provide the best learning environment possible, I need help from people like the generous donors.

My students have grateful and caring hearts, and I want them to learn that in our world, there are complete strangers that care about their education as I do.

My Project

In my classroom, I’m striving to take my students from knowing their letters and sounds to becoming lifelong readers. While this is an ongoing process through their years of school, it is my job to give a strong foundation and foster a love for reading. In our technology-centered culture many of my students are motivated by technology. Having an iPad in my classroom with learning apps and games would benefit my students tremendously.

Not only would they be engaged and having fun, but also learning while doing so.

This iPad could be used during center time, in small group with struggling students, or reading interactive stories with whole group.

It will also help me with recording students’ progress throughout the year for portfolio data that is needed.
