Illuminating Futures: Advanced Microscopy for MHS Honors Biology

MHS, nestled in a diverse and rural community, has long been a beacon of hope and opportunity for its students, many of whom come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. In recent years, we have witnessed a remarkable 400% increase in enrollment in our advanced biology courses, reflecting a burgeoning interest in the biological sciences among our students. This surge underscores a critical need: to equip our young scientists with the tools necessary to explore the wonders of the biological world at a microscopic level.
We are seeking to acquire a live video microscope digital camera and state-of-the-art microscopes for our Honors Biology program, an investment that promises to transform the educational experience and future prospects of our students.
