This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love using Literature Circles in my English classes. If you're not familiar, Lit. Circles are an activity in which students select their own books to read, are then grouped with students who are interested in the same book, and then complete a series of reading activities over four weeks related to their book as they read.
Literature Circles are how I grow voracious readers, but I need a good selection of books for my students to choose from.
This project aims to add some more options for my students that I think they'll love. These books are highly regarded best-sellers such as The Hate You Give, Eleanor and Park, They Both Die at The End, Uglies, and a few more.
When I was a school librarian at my last school, these books barely stayed on the shelf. I'm sure that my students will love these books and their love of reading will grow!
