My Students

Our students are the earliest learners. They come in with the natural wonder and excitement of all young people.

The students we teach come from struggling homes with a very high level of poverty and homelessness.

Many of our families struggle to meet basic needs, so we hope to ensure our students have all educational needs met in a warm, caring, and fun environment. We strive to teach students a love of learning and to never let go of the wonder they all have at five years old.

My Project

Learning our place in the world starts as soon as we're born. The next big milestone is kindergarten! When students arrive in kindergarten they are exposed to many new experiences in life. They are learning about themselves and how to handle big emotions and feelings. At the same time, students are learning how their emotions and feelings work in the world alongside peers. One of the most popular things that bring students together is dramatic play. They can act out how families and households are run. This often brings authentic learning and opportunities for discussions.
