My Students

My first grade classroom is a place for all students. I work hard to make sure ALL of my students feel safe, loved, and welcome when they enter my classroom. Just as a plant will not grow without all needs being met, neither will my students. I'm not just here to give information. They need LOVE! They need support, security, stability, routine, structure, fun, and a relationship with me rooted in trust. My students bloom when these needs are met and I love to watch them grow!

My students love technology!

It helps add to the fun and provides a hands-on learning experience that keeps them engaged and focused. We use technology throughout the day during our lessons and students are able to use technology one-on-one each day as well. We need another iPad to help create more hands on learning!

My Project

We need a mini iPad so more students can have access to hands on learning through technology. The first graders at our school do not have access to the computer lab, but there are so many wonderful programs that I would love for them to be able to use regularly. Adding an iPad mini to our classroom would increase the number of students that have access to technology on a daily basis.

With another iPad mini, students would be able to practice fact fluency as well as math and reading skills that are targeted to their particular level and learning style.

We have recently started using Front Row to help students work on specific skills in Math that they are weaker in. Front Row is an app, but only a few students have access to it on a daily basis. Adding another iPad would allow more students to access this wonderful skill-building app.
