Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds which bring diverse needs. Students come excited and ready to learn. The students I will have next year are students I previously taught in Kindergarten. I am excited to see how my students haven grown over the past few years.
My students are inquisitive and embrace new challenges.
My classroom will focus on writing and social studies which will bring all 4th grade students into my classroom. I am committed to helping my students be more engaged in innovative lessons through flexible seating options.
My Project
Students will be able to learn and interact freely throughout the classroom. My classroom will provide a comfortable safe learning environment that students will thrive in. I want a classroom to feel like "home." Students will be able to choose a spot that is comfortable and then will be able to focus better on learning. I chose bean bag chairs for students to be able to sit anywhere in the room and work with partners. I chose wobble cushions and balance balls to help students that need extra movement while they are learning. Students will be able to move their seats to participate in group or partner work easily on a daily basis.
The classroom will flex around the student's individual needs every day.
I will have 36 different seating options to offer with funding of this project. Students will be able to learn and interact freely throughout the classroom.Bean bag chairs will let students get comfortable so they can sit and focus on learning. Crates will be used for lower seating for students to sit at a lowered table. My classroom will be full of options to fit the needs of any student.
